It’s always nice to have some good news to share. And what we are seeing in single-family home sales in Washington County is certainly worthy of sharing.
The number of units sold in January are up over the same time last year. In fact, they were the highest we’ve seen in January in the past 3 years.
The average sale price is up over last year, as well, and pretty even with what it was in 2011 & 2012.
Wow! What a drop in the number of days on market. Though we’re up a bit over December, compared to January of 2011, 2012, and 2013, it’s clear homes are not sitting on the market as long.
Check back in a few weeks to see how things fared in February. We’ve had a tough winter with the excessively cold temperatures and heavy snowfalls, but the buyers are still out there. It’ll be interesting to see what kind of effect, if any, Mother Nature has had on the real estate market.
